Agatonia School Publishing (http://edupatrimoniu.piscu.ro/carti-patrimoniu/) wanted to add another publication to the Romanian Heritage series: a study manual for children over 10 years old. The book contains 18 chapters as lessons and ends with a vocabulary section.
Factum Design focused on the needs and learning habits of the target to achieve a better and dynamic reading, highly attractive by highlighting the information. To achieve this goal, the team designed compositions on double pages (spreads), as children are used to keeping the book open on their desks. This composition principle generated reading rules using color codes carried by graphic elements. In order to obtain dynamic surfaces, overlapping layers (slightly displaced) as well as oblique lines and obtuse angles were preferred. The dynamic structure of the forms was enhanced by color, by using a harmonious range of blue, green and orange with an accent of purple. The book was published with 2 versions of the cover.
For good reading quality, Meret (for body copy) and Fresco (for headings) fonts from www.typeby.com, were used.
